A Closer Walk

We are back from A Closer Walk at the Wildwood shore, and we had a terriffic time. The weather was great and God poured out the sun in the highest levels. The sun baked most of us over the three days and we have the burn to prove it. Even in the midst of the heat we still enjoyed everything a closer walk had to offer. The rides in the water parks and piers kept us entertained from the hottest parts of the day until the rides closed at night, but the main focus of the trip were the speakers and bands that made a closer walk the experience that it was.

The topics from the speakers were similar to the ones last year but focused on remaining pure before God and how to deal with relationships, one on one and with God. The messages were impactful but the time that Jess and myself spent with the youth is where the real impact was at. We dealt with some real key issues and look forward to the fruit that will sring fourth from the experience. The bands also brought some uplifting songs and encouraged some of us to go deeper with our walks. Overall the trip was well worth the investment and a huge thanks to the church for their help and Pastor and Miss Irene for their assistance with setup and breakdown. The trip was a success because of everyones help. Please feel free to add your comments about your experience and the fun we all had together at the beach!

Youth Group Moved

Hello all of the teens who were looking forward to their Youth Group last week.  I apologize that we had to reschedule for this Sunday at 5pm ( or right after church since we have an afternoon service).  Let just say its going to be fun, entertain and did I mention fun?

Also we will have the closer walk packets for you next week, which is coming up real soon!

NYTRO: Short but Sweet

Hey all! Due to some Family celebrations that had to be attended, our youth meeting had to be cut short. That aside, we still had an informative meeting. We are about to go through the lesson of Repentance, but there was only a little time to prime for this big chapter. Instead of a couple questions the teens made a paper faith builder. We took the paper fortune tellers (not good), and turned it into a faith builder (good). Ask the teens if they finished filling in the last part and have them explain it to you, after all the fruit of this ministy is the next generation that they will be raising up.

NYTRO: Steady as we go.

Hello to all again. Are wonderful group gathered together after a long respite due to weather and other circumstances. However, we picked up right where we left off and marched into the first chapter of our foundational study book. Not only did we jump right in but we also finished the first chapter as well. These guys are smart cookies! Now if asked what Atonement is these kids will supply that answer and be able to explain it from a personal level. I look forward to our next meeting for some more lesson material, but also some fun time as well. We will also be discussing our future excursion to the shore. Stay tuned.

Up and Coming Coffee House

Hello to all the Streams of Life bloggers!  I have some exciting news.  As you all know on October 3, 2009 Streams of Life held its first Coffee House Night.  From that night we had so much interest that we decided to hold another in the future.

We are pleased to inform that we will be holding the next Coffee House come this Spring in 2010!  So keep checking our site for the confirmed date, times and location!  I look forward to seeing you at the next event.  Until then God bless!

NYTRO: Plan for the New Year!

Greetings all! NYTRO youth group had its first meeting of the new year and this year is going to be fun. Our current youth members; Liz, Amber, and Steven, had the great honor of doing the planning for this years youth group meetings. As youth leaders Jess and myself had tears welling up in our eyes. These three kids are AWESOME! They were each asked to come up with three things they would like to do this year. October 3rd Coffee House Update

To update any curious bloggers, on October 3, 2009 the Youth Group from Streams of Life Fellowship ( called NYTRO) held its first Coffee House Night.  It was a smashing hit and the word, “Wow” comes to mind when I think of how many people came out to enjoy a night of  affordable coffee-house-style beverages and some amazing musical talent from our local area!

The Coffee Shop October 3, 2009

Streams of Life Fellowship is sponsoring a musical event called “The Coffee Shop” on October 3, 2009 from 6pm – 10:30pm  <click here for directions>.   All ages are welcome and admission is free.
